一年時間倏忽即逝，再過一天，就是我和ALC朋友們認識一週年
這一年過得相當充實，無數畫面我依舊歷歷在目，一切是ALC 起的頭
一年前的此刻，我還是個沒有獨自一人出過國的愣小子
甚至於，我上次用洗衣機是10幾年前的事 (幼稚園時玩票性質地亂洗…)，
也沒有和不認識的人當過室友
更沒有和父母分離超過一個星期
ALC時期的日子就不用多說了，在先前的文章說得很多了，來說一些新一點的事情。

即便只是一個月的短短 program，種種八卦竟也是少不了，
所以我們這些局外人，一見面就是先 update 八卦 
興奮的是，幾個星期前，有一對修成正果、成為互相承認的正式情侶 !!
如果說那些消逝的情誼讓我們見證了時間、距離和人性的冷酷
他們讓我看到一絲光輝
國籍與海洋與時間，是無法改變的距離，心的距離卻是可以透過真誠而緊緊繫著
You know that I care what happens to you,

在史丹佛的日子，對我最大的影響，莫過於優美的環境和風情
大學四年的我渾渾噩噩度日，沒有追求的興趣，也沒有想培養的專業
說了三年的「出國讀書」在取得直升台大研究所的資格後被我棄置一旁
一直到了史丹佛大學，我才終於見識到世界最頂尖的研究環境和最好的學習環境，
寬敞明亮的空間 (不論是宿舍還是教學大樓)、乾淨整齊的校園，
整體而言是相當人性化的空間，
在這裡學習與生活，帶給學生的是自信和活力，而不是妥協與忍讓
(回頭看看敝敗狹小的台大工學院空間…)
在史丹佛的學習經驗和生活經驗讓我重新燃起出國唸書的夢想
加上有幸在研究所階段加入了符合志趣的實驗室
在這一年中，完成了 GRE 並考到理想成績
同時為了充實申請背景而積極實驗，在高分子年會中取得壁報論文優秀獎 (第二名)
目前正準備泛太平洋高分子年會的投搞和尋求期刋論文發表
這些是大學時的我完全無法想像的。
每當我覺得疲憊時，看看在 Stanford 拍的照片，想想自己憧憬的未來，就更有力氣走下去。
謝謝一個月的ALC生活，讓我重新找到對生活的熱情和努力的目標。
ALC也影響了我對自助旅行的想法
本來我在異地旅行時習慣跟隨導遊
不過在ALC時，嘗試了舊金山等矽谷城市的自助旅行，自己查火車、找公車、看路線
我領會到自助旅行的樂趣
對於12月可能的夏威夷之旅，我已摩拳擦掌
最後，最重要的一點，是在ALC交到的外國朋友們，
除了加入FB和instagram 而更了解異國的文化與生活以外
大家的背景各不同，因此我在這一年中和各有特色的朋友交流
自覺眼界開闊了許多
本人也有幸親自接待過多位來自日本和北大的朋友
我未曾想過我能擁有這個機會，向他們介紹台灣的美好
而在替他們安排行程時，我也更了解我的家鄉
事實上，去年11月的九份之旅，是我的第一次，而我也終於知道前往九份的交通方式
而日後的書信往返和交流，依舊是這麼地饒富趣味
ALC 的負責人在ALC期間一直說，ALC最大的價值之一就是幫我們建立這樣的一套 lifelong friendship
我想，或許我正在實餞這句話 !
敬ALC的朋友，敬ALC的日子，敬我們的未來
